Summit Pack Sewing Pattern Review

Between Designing, working and mending (ergh) I have found the time to make a bag for a dear friend! Instead of doing a simple bag i had to choose (with my friends help) a back pack. This one lives up to it’s name summit! It’s not a hard sew really just such a climb to the finish line. The prep, and amount of pattern pieces…

I was not paid for this review however i did receive the pattern for free to review it. This post contains affiliate links. Fitting in a little bit of sewing time this week has been hard!  i did however have good motivation to sew up this little Freehand pack and review it for you.  This is a little bag with a lot of features including, three strap options, an optional divider in the main department for a water bottle and a zip pocket at the front. It includes instructions for using a pre-made double pull zip or making your own! This […]

Panic Clutch review

*this post contains affiliate links Ever since Emma from Emkie designs released the Panic clutch i have been waiting to try it out! i was just waiting to find the perfect vinyl. Purple Vinyl! I’m not that amazing at sewing vinyl and i did procrastinate for a few days over it. But i put my walking foot on and my leather needle and i failed  practised 2 flaps before i was satisfied with my final flap. This pattern is just 1 step up from a zippered pouch and a pattern perfect to challenge a beginner! It does involve sewing over […]

Party Clutch Pattern Review

As soon as i saw this pattern i knew i had to try it! Another pattern that took over my Facebook feed and i found myself buying black vinyl and beautiful canvas just to make it!. Both fabrics i have not sewn a great deal before and they did so well with this pattern. The Fabric is Koi by Rashida COLEMAN-HALE and i have been passing it in the fabric store for a while thinking of what i would make. I picked out the vinyl and turned around and the scalloped Edge design was sitting there. I got a huge kick out […]

The Essential Nappy Wallet – A Review

I was asked my Lisa at Two Pretty Poppets to review the Essential Nappy Wallet. I was (and i’m always) a bit worried about how i would go with the binding… Me and binding were not friends. But this project changed our relationship for the better! Lisa provides two sets of instructions for binding, hand binding and machine binding. This project is a great one for a beginner binder. The only hand stitching (if you choose so) is at the very end to stitch up the ends of the binding. I don’t love hand stitching but it’s a 5 minute job.. You […]

The Flirty Bag – A Review

I am so happy to be writing about another great bag pattern. The Flirty bag by Ladybugs & Daisy Chains was such a fun and easy sew. It’s quite a unique shape with a cute pleats detail and i love it can really make the fabric stand out! I chose the What a Gem fabrics by Allison cole i had left over to create this and the design made the geometric coral fabric really pop and bring out the colours in the blue gem fabric. I also used the coral for the band lining piece so that it would stand out while using […]

Fiona Folding Wallet by CloBird Designs a review

Karis from CloBird Designs and i have done a Pattern swap. I love that i know awesome designers! I’ve been seeing the Fiona folding wallet all over the internet sewing sites and groups! I have been wanting to make myself a new wallet for a long time because my current Op-shop special is becoming a bit tired. I’ve made wallets before and they have turned out very badly. I think this was due to the lack of stabiliser in the wallets and my inexperience with sewing small fiddly things. *Contains affiliate links The Fiona just looks so professional and cute! The fabrics people […]
