I've recently released my fabric designs on Spoonflower and i buy at least a test swatch to test the design before offering the design for purchase.
A test swatch from Spoonflower is 8" x 8" however if you do the fill a yard feature then you can fill squares as small as 6" x 6". Charm packs of quilting fabrics are 5” x 5” so there are plenty of quilting projects you could do with them.
I have come up with 5 things you can make items with these swatches. These are all quick and fun to make!
Beginner Coin Pouch
These coin pouches are so fun and quick to make for gifts or to sell at markets! I have a great sewing tutorial showing you exactly how to make them.
Small Flat Pouch
This sewing pattern comes with 3 sizes but the smallest size is perfect to use your swatches for! This is a great introduction to sewing with zips and sewing curves.
Face Washcloths
If you are brand new to sewing this is the best and most satisfying project to start with!. You'll have great results every time and they are re-useable!
Magnetic bookmark
If your a planner you'll love this fun and easy project. I love to make these for gifts and they sell well at markets. Keep your pen handy and save your page at the same time!
Scrappy Pincushion
Every sewist needs a cute scrappy pincushion in their sewing space. This Scrappy Pincushion pattern is in my Sewing Scrappy Ebook with a bunch of other scrap friendly projects you'll love!
Display your swatches.
Sometimes you may want to keep and display your beautiful swatches, i've created a great tutorial to make your swatches beautiful and cut out the backing card on a cricut machine or cutting machine with my SVG file.
I hope you give these projects a go!
