I have been attending a lot of sewing events recently. I have joined the Australian Sewing Guild recently and i also joined Myfabricology bagineers at a sewing event! These events are so much fun and a good chance to meet other sewcials! A part of going to more sewing events means having to carry everything and i really need a way to organise sewing project in a carry bag that also made room for sewing pattern details.

I've been using zip lock bags for the longest time and then i used 10 minute treat bags. Usually at events i get through 2 small projects and wanted them in 1 place but kept separate.

I had seen a busy bag for kids on pinterest a long time ago and thought i could upsize, change it slightly to give it a more adult look.

The idea could also be done with fabric pockets however i am not sure how pockets you could do given the fabric bulk.

I made my project bag with 4 pieces of 12" x 12" fabric and i took the inside pieces and stitch's 4 large lunch size plastic zip lock bags in between

I fused trimmed lightweight fusible fleece (Vilene H630) to the wrong side of the exterior piece.

I made the straps by cutting strips 4" x 15" and used the same steps as in my strap tutorial

For the closure of my project bag i made a button closure with a small piece of scrap fabric, making a small button closure piece folded and stitched the same way as the strap and then stitched to a point. once i stitched up the bag i attached the button.

The instructions on Infarrantly creatives busy bag are very easy to follow and this is a bag that will take less than 30 minutes to make!

It turned out so cute and very practical. The zip lock bags are big enough for whole project and an A5 size pattern.
