The Lily Bag is a great beginner sewing pattern. Lily is an exciting, youthful fold over crossbody bag.
The finished size of the Lily bag is 8.5" x 9" with the flap closed.
The fabric required to make this Bag:
1/4 Yard Light weight Fusible Interfacing
11” x WOF Fusible Fleece (Optional)
1/4 Yard for lining fabric
1/2 Yard for exterior

1 x Magnetic Closure
2 x 1/2” (12mm) Grommets
Size 00 (2.5mm) Piping Cord
2 x 3/4” (20mm) Swivel Clips
Lily Bag PDF Sewing Pattern
I made this bag pattern for my granddaughter and I am so very pleased with how it turned out. The bag is a perfect size for a crossbody and the pockets on the outside make it very functional. The instructions were very clear and fairly easy to follow. I did make some modifications to the pattern. I made a velcro flap closure in lieu of the zipper closure because I hate zippers. I also made the strap with an adjustable buckle as I'm not sure what length it will be worn on a 10 year old. I also used a tab with a D ring attachment for the strap because I felt that my bag is too delicate looking for a grommet. Very minor changes to a really cool looking bag. I will be making one for my other granddaughter shortly.
