Adding tabs to the ivy pouch not only looks good but can help with opening the zip. It's super easy to add these to the ivy pouch as the zip stays flat.
The Ivy Pouch is a super easy and quick sew pouch for intermediate bag makers. Perfect to show-off of two of your favourite fabrics
I made this Ivy Pouch during my Pouch sewing challenge. If you would like to join the challenge you can join my Facebook group.
You'll need to cut (2) 2.5" x 2.5" squares of corresponding fabric.
Fold each tab piece in half with wrong sides together. Press, then open and fold both sides into the middle to the centre line just created.
Press and fold in half again. Press well. Stitch 1/8” in from the seam down each side. Fold again with raw edges together and baste stitch.
Attach the tabs to each side of the exterior fabric at the each end of the zip centred on the seam created with the raw edge facing out.
Then just follow the Ivy pouch instructions to finish your pouch!
